<span style="background-color: black; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So. Hello. It's time. This is the final project of the year. The infamous MUSIC VIDEO PROJECT! (Bumm bumm baaaaaaa!) in this project, my team was comprised of Jason Hoy, Micah Miller, Linden Johns, and me. Wait. No. Scratch that last one. Just the three of us. The song we ended up picking was called "Push it to the limit" by Paul Engemann. We ended up picking by putting all of our song ideas onto one document, with our favorites highlighted. Then we basically just voted which one would be the best. Thus, we ended up with this song. I actually hadn't heard the song before this project, but it's pretty good.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here's the lyrics of the song that we used:

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Push it to the limit
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Walk along the razor's edge
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">But don't look down, just keep your head
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Or you'll be finished

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Past the point of no return
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">You've reached the top but still you gotta learn
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Push it to the limit

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; white-space: pre-wrap;">However, there was a catch. We had to make up a story to go with the song in the music video! *Dun dun daaaaaaaa!* Nah, it wasn't the hardest thing in the world. Micah came up with the idea that there was this superhero dude (me) who wasn't saving enough people. Thus, he trains, and beats up the big bad evil dude, who is revealed to be Jason, the person that gave him the status report in the first place! <span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace; white-space: pre-wrap;">[Insert deeper meaning and/or plot here]<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> Anyway... Yeah! Jason's evil, so I beat him up but not really, and walk off into the sunset, fade to black, cut. But wait! It needs to sync up with the lyrics. It syncs up to the lyrics pretty well, like for the training montage part it has inspirational lyrics like "Nothing's gonna stop you, There's nothing that strong." like, trying to pump him up and such. And before the big bad fight scene between me and Jason, it says "The power game's still playing so, you'd better win it." Basically continuing to inform that I am now stronger and am ready to take on the big baddie guy. And finally, at the end, when I enter the secret lair, it says, "No one left to stand in your way" which means what it implies. It's just up to me. Once again, <span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">[Insert deeper meaning and/or plot here]
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So... The finished product turned out pretty good in my opinion! I think probably the only thing that could be improved is my performance in the piece. I am not the best of actors in the world. The piece could probably be a little more fast-paced, but i'm proud of how it turned out. I think that for the most part, it definitely shows some of my best work. The speed up scenes didn't look (too) cheesy, and the story is definitely very clear, despite there technically being no dialogue. (Except for "Save me Superguy!" courtesy of Micah.) The editing was pretty good, the lip syncs were very synced, and my acting is still terrible. Just kidding, but I do feel I could work on it a bit. So yeah. I think this was a great end to a great year. Although ever since we finished it, "Push it to the Limit" has been stuck in my head.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Sincerely, Signing off one last time,

*Dunnnnnnnnn* "In the dark of night" *Dunnnnnnnn* "One class remained superior" *Dunnnnnnn* "Will the students survive?" *Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun DUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNN* "7th Period: Service Learning" Coming to theaters near nobody because this is about the food bank. Anyway, here comes the first blog post in.... Ever that ISN'T about G.T. Well, I'm not sure if this counts or not, because you need to be in G.T. to be able to be in this class and it's still taught by Mr. Sanderl, so I guess it's G.T. hard mode. Anyway, our project was to create a video PSA (Public Service Announcement) about a non-profit organization. I chose the Food Bank of Hawaii. (Although, you probably could have figured out that based on the giant video and title.) Anyway, my teammates for this project were... No one! I worked by myself because all of the teams were full, and although one team was not full, I would've much rather worked by myself. I learned about initiative and independence, which are important skills not taught quite as often in children's TV than friendship and relying on others for help.

The most difficult part of the project was probably the timing, as for half of the school days we could work on it, I was sick. Like sicker than a dog who happened to be sick. But I still managed to squeeze in two filming sessions, and thankfully Mr. Sanderl was understanding and gave me an extension. I was a little worried when I went out to film, but the people at the food banks were really nice and supportive. (I mean, it makes sense, as they help starving people every week.) I mean, I couldn't get shots of the people who were getting food, which made sense because you know, they're people. I would need each one of their permissions to use the clip in question. Basically, the video was challenging but (mostly) fun.

Finally, I really do hope that the people over at the Hawaii Food Bank use or at least see the video. I worked really hard on it, and I hope that the recognize that. Even if they don't use the video, I'm still proud of myself for creating the piece, because it was very difficult but also one of the highest quality videos i've made. I hope you like it as much as I did.

Ciao for now,
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Goooooood evening everybody! Or morning. Or noon. Or midnight. Or whenever you're reading this... Anyway, as the title says, (and as the large film above shows) Our next project has been making a movie trailer for a movie that doesn't exist. It had to be 60-120 seconds long, explain why the movie should be watched (even though it can't be watched) without giving away the ending, and have an epic voice read the script to make it sound.......Epic. Our team members were Micah Miller, (Epic voice guy) Cephas Woodward, (Main character) and Jason Hoy, (Director). In the plan, I was the one that came up with the idea of the movie, with a man trapped on an island with a pair of spooky glasses. I was also the cameraman, and wrote scenes 1 and 4, as well as helping write some of the other scenes such as 2 and 3. So far, that is what I've contributed to the plan. Next paragraph transition GO!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Okay, so that was a little more underwhelming than I anticipated, but whatever. Anyway, the project went pretty well. The biggest challenge was a failure to communicate some things. For example, we had a very difficult time finding a date at which we could film, and even then sometimes things didn't go according to plan. However, I believe the biggest success of the film was the atmosphere. From the voice overs to the ambient noise, I think we got it basically spot-on for a eerie and spooky type of film. You may not have found it scary at all, but I actually did, and I was one of the people who made it!
Overall, we did really good! Everyone else in the class seemed to think the atmosphere was good, and we ended up in a tie for best movie with "Don't say it". There definitely were some things we could have improved on, such as some continuity errors and things that didn't make sense. Otherwise, most people thought we wen't above and beyond, which I was really happy about. In total, I learned things about production value, making a movie trailer, and not to get too upset if things don't go according to plan. Oh yeah, and the value of friendship or whatever they want you to learn in those cheesy TV shows. (But I did learn about teamwork, so...)
It's got the usual animation types, STYKZ, photoshop, stop-motion, stop-motion on a whiteboard, that kind of thing. But as the animation styles change, so does the animation itself! It changes and morphs and goes through (as the title suggests) metamorphosis, but not just from a caterpillar to a moth, more creative that that... but you can probably see that from the video. Anyway, the goal was to have a fresh, creative idea for an animation with different styles where something changes. Like how in those stories, how the lonely girl that's trapped becomes a princess or whatever, but more creativer. (creativer? that's not a word) Like, for example, a frog could become a fly and see what it's like to be hunted, and then becomes a vegetarian...? (that wasn't a good example) But there has to be a purpose or moral to it. And the purpose can't be something dumb like "To entertain the viewer!" That's not CREATIVE or ORIGINAL! That's the point of like... all animations. Ever. So a purpose might be something like, "To achive your goals, you need a little help from others." That's an example of a creative and moral statement. It must be the creativivestestest. (Still not a word)
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">So, our animation turned out to have the focus statement "Egg Seeks Adventure". The plot is that there's an egg that isn't sure what it wants to be. This scene would have a photoshopped egg named Eggbert, (not my idea) hanging out in a nest, thinking about what it wants to be. Then, it starts to rain, and the egg becomes slippery, (still in photoshop) and falls out of the nest. landing beside a river, the eggshell breaks in half, (stykz animation now) and becomes a boat. The boat drifts along in stop motion, and reaches the ocean. Eventually, it sails to an island, and the egg-boat really wants to explore it. Looking for a way to get onto the island, it accidentally runs into a rock. Pieces of the boat fly off and melds together and changes into a bird. The bird flies off into the sunset in photoshop animation to explore and settle down. Super deep right? The moral of the story is to find yourself and seek adventure.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">So, the results were't quite what I was expecting. As there was no dialogue in the entire video, many people found the plot confusing, so we didn't get very high grades in that area, shown by the very scientific diagram right over there <--. I do think we deserved the grades for characters, props, and backgrounds <span style="font-family: "arial"; white-space: pre-wrap;">as well as creativity, originality, and execution. Overall, I mostly agree with the grades, but do regret that we didn't incorporate dialogue or speech into the film. <span style="font-family: "arial";">So, I dunno about you, but I believe that almost all facial expressions are universal. Almost everyone can understand the facial expressions can make. For example, a smile. You know how I can tell that smiling is something people are born with? Because they smile as babies when they're happy. Frowning, in many cases, shows disapproval or disappointment. So, even if you're from somewhere like Brazil, or Germany, or China, I'm pretty sure that you'd understand what I meant if I smiled at a unique food dish, or frowned after being rejected from a baseball team, or anything like that. However, some facial expressions in certain places are not inherited naturally. Many expressions are a result of people or society teaching their children whether something is good or not, but even as babies, we all understand a smile, laughter, and crying.

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Wow, that was probably the first blog post I've made that DIDDN'T start with "Hey here's a new G.T. project I'm gonna talk about it now." But this new project is.... drumroll please..... (bup bup bup.... bup bup... bap... bap boop bup...) I really need to afford a good drummer... Anyway, it's low poly portraits! Any idea what that is? I sure didn't! But because of my extensive research on (ahem, wikipedia) I found out! Low poly portraits are basically used "<span style="font-family: "arial"; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">for modeling graphics quickly and efficiently<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> <span style="font-family: "arial"; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">using simple 3-5 sided shapes." -Linden's vocabulary 2016. A link to some examples can be found here. Anyway, I made mine, which you can also see scattered across the blog post, using PhotoShop, some steps, and a WHOLE lotta time. The first thing you want to do is to get a photo of yourself or someone else or pretty much anything. Pull it into photoshop, activate the Grid, and lock your portrait layer. Using the line tool at about 5 pixels in an easily identifiable color, (I used red) start drawing an outline for your subject in the photo. Make sure each line starts and ends at either a horizontal or vertical grid line, and all the lines connect. Once you've done that, merge the lines and name it "outline" then start using the line tool to outline the main features, if you're doing a face, this would be hair, eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Then you just kinda start connecting the lines, making sure that all the shapes you make are triangles. Yes, triangles. At places with more detail, use more smaller triangles. For large similarly-colored spaces use bigger and fewer triangles. Once you've finished with that, which takes a while, merge all of the lines together, and copy your photo layer. Be sure to be working in the copy layer, so if something goes wrong, you can delete it. Then, you use the polygonal lasso tool and select triangles individually, every time going to Filter-Blur-Average (after you do it once you can just use Command-F) to flatten the shape. Do that for every single triangle. All of them. Then just cut out the photo and you should be done! Ez-Pz-Lemn-Squizi

Poly-2 Without outlines, looks a little better
FYI this is a photo of my brother.

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So, as you can see, Poly-2 has quite a few differences from Poly-1. Mainly that it doesn't look unnerving, but there were quite a few differences along the way. First of all, there were no outlines. Just lasso-ing various triangles and coloring them. Secondly, instead of going to Filter-Blur-Average, you use the eyedropper tool to select a color that would look good and stand out from the other triangles and fill it with that. Shortcuts for these keys are: Polygonal Lasso Tool: L Eyedropper tool: I Fill triangle: ALT-Delete. Pretty easy. Then, once you've selected and filled all the triangles with unique colors, (you can use manual color select to make them more unique) you add a Curves adjustment layer and tweak it a bit to make the colors pop even more. Then, you cut out your image, copy the background AGAIN, and go to filter-artistic-cutout for the background. Tweak it up a bit, find a good cutout setting, make it look all polygonal by adjusting the settings, and then click apply. Then, you add a color balance adjustment layer that affects the background but not the subject, and make it all quirky and weird to make the subject pop EVEN MOAR. If you want, you can even select parts of the background and copy and distort them, or make an outline for your subject, basically get creative. Then you should have something that looks really cool, and you're done! EZ-PZ-LEMN-SQUIZI

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">So. Hi. What is up. I am here, apparently. And also we have another project. (Surprise Surprise) You know, basically the same into I've done for the past 3 years except this time is DIFFERENT this time I'm a little less enthuseasti- wait the all caps different probably ruined that. Anyway! The new project is called..... dun dun DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN RETIME Nature poem thing. Basically a nature poem with royalty free music, time lapses, and slow mos. Nature is a very big impact on my life for various reasons. First of all, our backyard is a forest. So that's a big part of my life that is entirely nature. Secondly, I can't see out my windows because there's a big bamboo patch in the way, so that's another big thing. And finally, I love nature. All except mosquitos, I love to run into the backyard and garden and mess around, climbing trees, rolling in grass, and generally having a good time.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">As said before, the project requires time lapses and slow-mos. Now, I am here to tell you how they're made! And before you ask, no. We're not clicking the button on the camera that takes a photo every 30 seconds or so, and compiles them into a time lapse. We're doing it a little bit differently. To take THESE time lapses, you just click the record button on a camera that's on a tripod, (our requirements needed 2/3 sky and 1/3 ground.) and leave it there for at least 5 minutes or more. Then, you take the video to Final Cut Pro, or a similar video editing program, put the clip into your timeline, click the "Re-Time" button, and set it to fast. I personally like to make it 20X faster, but that's just my preference. For slow-mos, you just simply take a 3-5 second clip (it can be longer, but it will become longer as well) of some kind of action. Then, like before, bring it into FCP and click "Re-Time" This time, go to slow, and choose whatever percent you want it to be slower. Boom! You just slowed down your clip to make it a slow-mo. Better slow-mos can be taken using a camera that shoots at a much higher FPS, but any old camera should work. Although it does get weird if you slow it down too much with an ordinary camera...
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">This project was, in total, pretty fun. I mean, there was nature, poetry, chickens, what's not to like? (Unless you despise writing for some reason...) But the hardest part was probably getting the time lapses. I had a lot of trouble with this for a variety of reasons. First of all, it was difficult to get the camera at an angle of 2/3 sky and 1/3 ground without a tripod. Some pretty creative arrangements were made using game boards, binders, textbooks, and chairs. Not to mention getting to a spot that didn't have telephone wires or cars strewn all over it was a little challenging. But my favorite part about it was probably the editing. Heh, those chickens look so silly when slowed down... and that time lapse looks really cool in it's entirety... It was quite fun to mess around with the Re-time function. Quite fun indeed.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Well, I guess I'll post again when there's another G.T. project. (as always...)
BONUS! Here is the results for the critique. Personally, I mainly agree, except for that 2. So, other than that, I basically agree with the results. I did good, but not super exceptional.

Another one! Isn't it crazy? They just keep coming! Anyway, the first project of the year is......... wait for it......... dramatic effect...........................
wait, I just realized, you probably know what it is from the title. . . To think I wasted all of those periods! Anyway, the first project is the Poetic Personal Statement. And I would like to start things off right. The word poetry. You've probably herd of it before, you may have even written poetry before! But what's interesting about the word is how many meanings it has. To some people, it could be a few statements that rhyme, to others it may mean the emotions poetry conveys. To me, poetry means: Several statements, usually in a certain pattern of writing (rhyming, or whatever) that conveys a moral, meaning, or emotion. That's just my definition of it, (connotation, anyone?) so you might have a different one. Don't take everything I say as fact. Unless you do, in which case, YOU ARE NOW MY MINION. MEET ME AT THE PARK AT 5:00 PM TO DO MY BIDDING AND DON'T BE LATE. Seriously though. I also think poetry is used for different reasons. My personal reasons that I think poetry is written is to convey a meaning, express an emotion, and / or telling people a message that the writer takes to heart. You may have a lot of other reasons for writing poetry. Perhaps it's fun for you, and that's the only reason you do it. Again, these are just my opinions.

So, here is MY poetic personal statement:

Here I am, working and stressing
Knowing, I won’t get a savior blessing
Going deeper and deeper, into the zone,
For all of my work must be my own
Trying and trying, through blood, sweat, and tears,
Letting go of the stress to let go of my fears
Relaxed, focused, and working presently
Trying to keep my health, mentally.

Did you see any personal goals in there? Perhaps that I want to stress less? Fear less? Work harder? Stop procrastinating? Be healthier? Anything? Cool.

I used rhythm and rhyme very thoughtfully in this poem. For example, notice how the tone in the beginning is much different than the tone in the end. I tried to make it so that the beginning is fast paced, stressed, and a kind of last-minute tone, but in the end, I tried to make it more relaxed and chill. Notice the difference now? And, of course, I made the rhyme do a similar thing, with the fast-paced, and then the slower relaxed words. If you want to see the final project, you probably already have because the text, sketch, and final project are scattered about the page.

Welcome back!
So, it's only, like, one week away from the last day of school!!! YEAAAAA! Time to plan vacations, relax, prepare for finals, and make an awesome music video! What? Were you NOT expecting that? Did you not read the title? Well, that's the FINAL project in 7th grade G.T. Pretty awesome huh? Our song that we (Micah, Me, Callum, and Jason) picked was "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry. It's a pretty old song, and I mean really old, like, from the 50s. In the project, we had to take the songs lyrics, and lip sync it while telling a story. Here's the song lyrics that were used:
<span style="font-family: "arial";">Quite a handful, huh? It's the entire song, with a little bit of instrumental removed. So, the story that we used in conjunction with the lyrics basically told the story that the song told, but with a little bit of "creative details". (In other words, we made stuff up.) The story is about a country boy named Johnny B. Goode, who is really good at playing the guitar, and when he lived in the country, everyone celebrated his awesome musical talent. But when he moves into the city, a couple of bullies show up, (This happens at the second chorus) and shove him down. Well, he takes this pretty harshly, and basically quits guitar so he won't be teased for it. But, on his somber way back home, he remembers all the things people have said, and what his mother told him, and he returns to the awesome music business, better than ever. Great story, GG. I mean, GS? Good Story? I'm not sure.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">Sooooooo, in most music videos there is fast- shot montages. We don't really have that, but we do have some fast-ish montage sequences that aren't really montages, but whatever. The main one is near the end when two bullies (acted by Micah and Jason) shove Callum over, he falls over, and runs away angrily. Another scene that isn't really fast-edit, but it could be considered a montage of sorts is in the beginning, when Callum is getting ready for the day, falling out of bed, washing his face, walking into the hall, picking up his guitar, etc. Put those two together and I guess you could have a fast-edit montage... I'm not sure. Personally though, I don't think that the song needs any montages or fast edits, because of it's tone and genre. I believe that it's good as is.
It shows our best work because I think it is A: our highest quality that we could accomplish in the allowed time, and it shows everything we've learned this year. It has Wide, Medium Close, Interesting angles, A delicate plotline, (That couldn't be shattered with a sledgehammer, indicating that it's not as delicate as I thought...) and photoshop skills for the intro screen. We did have some difficulties, but we usually overcame them pretty quickly. This was probably one of the better projects of the year. (What was the best? You decide!)
So, a new project has sprung up out of the blue! An animation project using the photoshop animating tool and puppet warp! This time, however, we had to work with people we've never worked with before. So, my teammates were Callum and Shaday. (Links to their blogs to the right) The goal was to create a funny "visually simplistic" animated story that had a life lesson, while exaggerating character traits. My trait was procrastination, Callum's was his introverted... uh... introvertedness?... and Shaday's was that she's also introverted, but hyper as well. Other people to make a cameo in the animation: Mr. Sanderl and Kacie Burns. Anyway, in the story, me and Kacie are asked to do dishes, but I don't do them and Kacie messes up. Callum, the introvert, has to find help, but he has trouble talking to people. Then, he finally finds Shaday on a bench, and since they have some things in common, they become friends. The end. Great story. Beautiful, and I'm not sure what I can add to that.

So our finished project is REAL funny, yeah. Totally. Hilarious. Eh, perhaps we slipped up a bit on that part... But some parts were kinda funny. Like when I just walk away for no reason, or Kacie drops all of the dishes and messes up big-time. My personal favorite part was when Callum confronts his fear of large crowds by simply saying "nope.". That's pretty much all that was kinda funny, the other stuff was mainly focused on the story. The life lesson is to not be afraid of public, and that there is always someone out there that can understand you. This may sound silly, and that so one would ever think that they are all alone in this world...- wait... nope. People think that sometimes. So, it wouldn't be hard to believe. Basically, there is someone out there who can help you, who you can become friends with, who thinks similarly to you. If I had to put the entire meaning of the story into one word, I guess it would be "Motivation".
Our average productivity was about average, but we were doing better than some people. I think that I worked the hardest and fastest of the entire group, (over two-thirds of the animation was from me) But Callum and Shaday were very productive as well. The best moment of the project was when we had FINALLY finished, and were ready to turn it in. It took a really long time, plus two deadline extensions, to finish the animation. If you see the film and are like "Wow. this is the worst animation and film of all time." First of all, no. it's not the worst film of all time. (That title probably belongs to a very bad film that I want to mention, but don't want to bash on it, so you fill in the blank. __________________) And it took a lot of effort to make. The biggest challenge was definitely <strike>time, </strike>NOT t-i-m-e, as we are forbidden to say that word, but it was probably speed. I was lightning fast at animation, but Callum and Shaday were not quite as fast. When I had finished my assigned scenes, they (no offense) weren't done with one. I diddn't really have a problem with this. Most people from other teams were just as slow, so I was glad to help them out and do a few extra scenes. Soooo yeah. In total, not one of our best projects.
Hello, do you know where I can find highway 491? No? It doesn't exist? Whatever. I'll find it myself. Oh- wait. That's the wrong line. What I MEANT to say was that: Hello! New week! How you've been? Alright? Good? Have a nice easter? No? Whatever. Anyway, I'm a pretty good person in general and want to make other people happy, (Including myself,) and I'm a perfectionist. Why do I mention this? My answer to that is; Did you even read the title? CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! I'm a perfectionist! That's character development! Never mind.... Anyway, you may not no that, but I always want everything to be perfect, especially when it comes to art. I doubt it's OCD, but it can be annoying. Speaking of which, in art we're doing this project where you draw grid lines on one picture and draw grid lines on your paper, and copy the picture. I mention this because it takes like twice as long as everybody else on the copy, because I want it to be freaking perfect. I just can't do it messy even if I wanted to! It's kinda ludicrous. Perhaps an enemy of mine hypnotized me in my sleep so I must do everything perfect! IT'S GENIUS- wait- wait- no... no it's not.

When we animate ourselves, we have to exaggerate certain character traits for our character. I think mine will do everything really slowly and perfectly, but still messes stuff up sometimes. I would do this because I'm (as

stated before) a perfectionist, but I sometimes mess things up more often then I would like to admit. My character should also be an artist, but take a long time drawing and sketching. I could do this by making each thing my character does by having my character do things a lot slower than other people, and STILL manage to mess things up. Kinda like a sloth that accidentally spills drinks and breaks dishes, bu
t not THAT slow. I may make a few tweaks to this character in the final animation, but this is the base idea.

Creating an animated .GIF is a little bit tricky, but also kinda fun. The first step is to take a photo of yourself and shove it into photoshop. Using the quick selection tool, cut yourself out and downsize the photo so it ISN'T 6 feet tall. No, really. It's usually 6
feet tall. Next, bring up the animation toolbar at the bottom. Then, you move your character into frame gradually, making a new frame on the animation bar every bit you move it by. When it's in frame, you can duplicate the layer and use the puppet warp tool to move your character's arms or legs or whatever. Each frame that you use the puppet warp, you need to create a new layer for, and make only that layer shown in the frame. It's a little complicated, but finally you either select all frames and duplicate them and then reverse them to make it loop, or you move it bak out of frame. This makes it loop. Then you select all frames and change the timing to 0.1 seconds. If you want, make an epic background for it, or just take a photo of something and stick it in there. To save, click the "Save for web and devices" button, select the settings you want, and save it as a .GIF file. Done! You can post it onto your blog or whatever. Awesome... right? Right?

I'll assume the answer is "Right"
You see the title? You're probably wondering; What the heck is a MOV? Is it short for movie? Is it some sort of rare species of iguana in New Brazilland? Is it a type of fruit? Is it another word for MOM? What the heck is it? Well, it basically means movie. Anyway, ours is an animation comedy thing. Our keywords are<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;"> Comedy, Virtual-world, Creativity, and Challenges. These keywords (I think) connect with the audience. They do so because (for Comedy) everyone likes to laugh right? Right? (Grumpy old man around the corner of my house I am NOT talking about you.) And virtual world, I think all of us get sucked into another reality some time or another. I don't mean literally. Creativity and challenges are kinda intertwined. Using one you can get through the other. (Yeah! Use challenges to conquer creativity!) I don't mean that. You should conquer challenges creatively.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">So the overall message. The message that I perceive from the film is to face challenges head-on. Don't try to wiggle away from them. Don't try to escape DESTINY! (Perhaps not that dramatic, but you get the idea.) When there's a challenge, if you don't try to face it, you'll grow up thinking that it's okay, but then when you HAVE to face it, you won't know what to do! You won't have the experience! And when you do face the challenges, it may not be as complicated or bad as you think it is. You may be surprised at what you accomplish if you just TRY! I know, this seems like "Wow. I've heard this a gabazillion times before. Sheesh. UNCREATIVE ALERT!" But it's true! Just try it.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">The biggest challenge my team faced, no question or contest, was when one of our members decided to leave. We wasted two days trying to convince him to stay, but to no avail. When he left, we ended up one man down, and two days behind, meaning me and Cody needed to pick up the slack. I doubt we ever fully recovered from that, but we did pretty well. And it did take a lot of extra work to catch up and animate good. Is goodly a word? If so, (It's probably not,) We animated goodly, and caught up just in time. Still though, I was under a LOT of stress to finish it on time. Which as you know, (Or perhaps you don't.) isn't very good for anyone. It was hard, especially since when we started FILMING, the project was due in TWO DAYS. And animating takes a while.Lindenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10623787716800570235noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8493028222083844803.post-52740926332469183472016-02-22T11:21:00.001-08:002016-02-22T11:25:58.924-08:00Tiny Spherical Worlds

So. See the title? See it? Smell it? Taste it? (No you can't. This is a computer.) We are making entire WORLDS! Ha! But there are no ordinary every-day planets, these are PHOTO WORLDS! Think of it like a panorama, but then it's made to look like a planet. There are examples all over this post. So, these worlds are composite images. What's a composite image you ask? It's an image made from several different photos. You may be wondering, "But Linden, why would you want a composite image? Isn't one photo enough? If you want a bigger photo, why can't you just use the panorama button on your phone? Isn't a composite image just more work?" And to that I answer, um, (What can I answer first?) About panoramas, yeah... they're composite images too. I know, I know, groundbreaking stuff here. Probably just went over your head. And the point of a composite image is to make several photos into an image beyond the limitations of a camera. No camera could make one of these photos into a tiny world. No sir. With composite images, you have a lot more customization freedom. Composite images do take more work then just a photo though, but that much is obvious.

I am the ruler of this world I created...

So, there are two types of these worlds. Polar and spherical. They may sound the same, and for the most part, they are. Only one step makes them different, but the outcomes are shockingly different. A polar panorama looks like a tiny globe that you could fit in your hand, but a spherical panorama looks kind of like the sky is a black hole sucking in everything from every angle. either way, they're both really cool. The one step that separates them is flipping the image upside-down before you use the tool to make it polar or spherical. It kinda inverses the sky and ground. So, in a polar panorama, the ground is in the center, but in a spherical panorama, the sky is in the center with the ground surrounding it. I think they look REALLY cool.

(This is really trippy...)

So, these worlds, they look (mostly) pretty real huh? No? Well, then, I'll explain to you why they look so spectacularly realistic! So, they look like this for several reasons. At first, there was a large line going straight through the worlds. That looks pretty dubious, so it had to be fixed. It took some serious edits to get rid of it. And by serious edits, I of course mean the always-handy stamp tool. Little bit of stamps here, little bit there, a ton of stamps there, change place where you stamp, stamp some more, and boom! Line erased! There may be a bit of traces of the line there, but it otherwise (totally) works! I will admit, I'm not the BEST editor, but that doesn't stop me from trying! Another thing that makes them look as real as an egg-salad sandwich, is in the portrait shots, the angle in which the portraits were taken. The portraits were then skewed to fit more, and had an epic shadow added to them! Pretty realistic huh?
Just like the person that invented it, David Hockney, we are piecing together lots of photos into one image. However, there are a few differences. Our photomontage photos are edited, but instead of making it surreal like David Hockney's photomontages, ours are edited to just enhance them a little. I mean, if you look at Hockney's works, they look like paintings! Ours just looks like our subject, pieced together a little abstractly. So, same idea, totally different finished products.
I don't know if you know this, *Puts on tinfoil hat* but there are some serious subliminal messages in photos. If you look at a photo, it can convey a mood. For example, some photos can make you feel sad, happy, excited, confused, and more. They can do this through lighting and composition techniques, not to mention the subject itself. For example, for a sad mood, there can be a sightly blue tint as it rains and a woman runs away. (Perhaps a bit dramatic, but you get the gist.) For happy, there could be a bright, colorful picture of a little kid's birthday party. For a trapped feeling, there could be a black and white photo of someone yelling while shaking thick metal bars. (Once again, a bit dramatic.) Just thinking about these types of images can give you the "Feels". *Takes off tinfoil hat* (No idea why I was wearing that.) Anyway, the main point is that skilled photographers can make you feel something just by looking at their photos, and we've also been learning how to do that.
So. This is it. The final photomontage. *Engage epic music* The subject of this photomontage is... *Drumroll please* Something about us! Yeah, the final photomontage is supposed to represent something about us. So, you may be wondering, seeing the cupcakes over there, "How does this represent HIM?" And I have the answer to that question. First thing, I love to bake. It's one of my favorite hobbies, and I do it very often. Don't believe me? In our kitchen, I have my very own large drawer that is devoted entirely to sugar and flour. The more implicit, but still kinda obvious message both applies to me, and to other people in a different way. Basically, for me, it symbolizes how I'm pretty different from other people. I may try to fit in, but it's impossible. Relating to other people, it is a message that says "Stand Out!" "Be yourself!" etc. You know, motivational mumbo jumbo, blah blah blah.

You can stop the epic music now...
Ok, new year, so new resolutions. (Resolutions, goals, whatever.) Here are 5 goals for 2016 that I have: 1. bake two things I have never baked before, (This may be challenging, because I have baked a LOT of things...) Another is to make a pretty good project for this year's science fair. I also want to do really well while making my mom's wedding cake. (I volunteered to do it. I love to bake! :) ) My fourth goal is to travel more, as I have only been to 3 states in the U.S. only... (I may not reach this goal, because I have no plans to travel to other places, but anything can happen.) My final goal is to continue to get straight A's for the rest of 3rd and 4th quarters. This is probably the most important goal, right up there with doing well in 8th grade.

So, I want to do well in 7th grade, and this is very important. (Now this chain

It's a small flower.

may be over-exaggerated, so don't judge it too harshly, but...) If I don't do well in 7th grade, I won't be ready for 8th grade. If i'm not ready for 8th grade, I'll fall behind. If I fall behind, I won't be ready for high school! If that happens, I won't be ready to go through each of the high school years in turn, leading to not being able to go to collage, AND MY WHOLE LIFE WILL BE RUINNEEDDDDDDD!!!!! (Told you. I over-exaggerated...) Anyway, I believe it's important to get good grades in school, so you can be whatever you want. (I may not have the best goals, but whatever.)

God reaches down to shine light on-
just kidding. It's the cloudy sky.

Ok. So, I think, to achieve this absurd goal, (Not very absurd, but whatever.) I will have to do all assignments to the best of my ability, listen in class, self directed learner, blah blah blah, etc. Seriously though, I'm really bad at getting homework done on time, so I need to work on not procrastinating. (It's my number 5 favorite hobby. I'm too lazy to write the other four though.) I think my quality of work currently is pretty good though, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved! (It might though.) Also, I sometimes get distracted in class, so that needs to be improved as well. Other then those things, I already do pretty well in class, so this goal is seemingly easy, but one slip up and it's failed.

Happy new year!
So, coding! Finally, something difficult but super fun! Our assignment was to create an epic Scratch game where one thing chases another, and to make a platformer. We, as well, had to make a game where... well... it actually diddn't have much requirements. It was just a freedom game. (Have fun playing the games, they're around here somewhere...) Anyway, our class gave us feedback on the games, (The one that was made FIRST,) so we could make the games better. The chase game, platformer, and freedom games you currently see above is the most updated version. A couple of the suggestions were to make the water in the platformer for level 4 a little slower, (Which I did, by the way.) and to make the background to the chase game a little more interesting.

So, for each of the games, I think there were clearly some awesome features. (Shameless self-advertising.) The best feature for the chase game, I think, was how the game gets harder the longer you play. After 20 points, it becomes almost impossible to dodge the square's attacks. (Want a hint? Never stop moving.) For the platformer, I think the best feature is the cutsene at the end. The water stops, and then drains. They're pretty cool, and very different. As one increases difficulty, one stops it.

So, the code. I think that the best code I made was on the freedom game, because of the complexity of creating certain formations that would always be carried out provided the correct random number was picked. It was pretty difficult to coordinate the lava and platforms, and took some trial and error. One of the most difficult bug fixes was actually also the best code. I just couldn't figure out how to coordinate the lava and the platforms. When two of the same formations appeared, the platforms would be off by quite a bit, usually making it impossible. But I rewrote the code, so instead of 10 sprites there were 1 that cloned itself, and I made the platforms activate the lava. It was pretty frustrating...

Hope you enjoy playing Chase, Platformer, and Dash!
-Linden

P.S. For the freedom game, use only space. Space makes you jump. Tap space again to double jump. For the platformer, use arrow keys, and same for the chase game.
Here we have another G.T. project. This project was to create an invention and advertise it. Currently, the Shirt Shifter (You should know what it's called if you watched the video) is not for sale, because there is only one in existence, but it's still pretty cool. For the assignment, we basically wanted to make a reference to those classic 80's commercials. I think we did pretty well. We also wanted to make it pretty funny and less like a reference to the classic commercials, and more like a rip-off of them. So, that pretty much contradicts my previous statement. Anyway, how did we do? Our only thought was to entertain you. (And sell the product, which isn't for sale >:D )

The best "Team Moment" I think, was the creation of the idea itself. I originally had wanted to do shampertables, (Kinds like convertible pants, but exactly like convertible pants) but it wasn't an original idea. Then, we thought of ANOTHER idea, which was supposed to motivate people, but it wasn't makable, so that had to go to. Finally, I thought of how annoying it was to take off sweaters in the afternoon, and thought of the Shirt Shifter. Supa inspiration genius. It was also a good moment when we finished the editing and saw it on the "Big Screen" and how awesome it was (Although that wasn't really pre-production...). Need more proof? Check out these scores! Left, Up, and Down.

Anyway, DURING the editing, we had split jobs. I was in charge of piecing together the clips, Micah was in charge of music, and Cody was in charge of critical thinking. (I mean critical. Not like complex thinking, more like a critic.) I think we all did a pretty good job on each of our jobs. Everyone did their part, and their part was... did? Basically we divided the work so that everyone had something to do.

Adios!
Hellllooooooo people that pay attention to a blog like this! We were, this time, supposed to go out (on the school campus... :P) and film 10 examples of composition techniques. Anyway, if you look up ABOVE, you will see the 10 examples WE were supposed to do. I, personally, think that unusual angles are the most important. I mean, sure, you have a movie with rule of thirds or whatever, but no unusual angles, it's just kinda blah. Unusual angles make it more gripping, and draw you in like- WOAH! Did that guy just do an EPIK jump? It looks like it because the camera is under him as he jumps from building to building! When from flat, it's just like- Oh, cool jump brah, meh, this is boring. Just my opinion though. Don't take my word for it.

I think the HARDEST composition technique is ALSO unusual angles. I mean seriously, it's kinda hard to look for the most creative, safe, AND interesting angle at the exact same time. We took about 10 minutes to find ours! Although, when you're making a movie, you have time for that sort of thing... Still, it's hard. I could use it more by taking more time to think about shots before I shoot them, but I'm too lazy. (Jk, Jk. Hold your horses. I'm not THAT lazy.) Anyway, yeah, I could also shoot in more locations that gain the POSSIBILITY to create these strange unusual angles. It'll be hard, but possibly fun. :)

So, on this, my teammates were Cody and Micah. We mainly switched roles every now and then, but mainly, micah and cody were the subjects, I was usually the speaker, (Sometimes it was micah,) Cody, when not talking or holding up the camera, held up the script. He also did most of the text when we were editing. There was a lot of variation on who did what though, so it's kinda hard to explain who did this and that and this-that. Anyway, in the editing board, I cut out the extra footage and pieced it together, Micah was da epik D.J. and did the music, and Cody gave advice and did the texts. Then bing, bang, boom! (I just destroyed a couple vases... >-<) An epic and informative video!

Piece out! (Puzzles r fun)
Let's see... wires... cut blue... wait- HTML?!?! I DON'T KNOW THI-- BOOM!!!!!! And that's why we should learn to code. Not really though. I personally think everyone should learn to code, because- let's face it- Technology is taking over. More and more technological stuff are being created right this second, and eventually, everyone will either know coding and know the stuff, or be hobos. (Not saying being a hobo is bad, but- I think it kinda sucks...) Anyway, coding, once you learn it, it isn't so hard! And well, it may seem like that people who are like <Lol HAHA><span style="color: red;"></span> are NERDZ, but knowing coding WILL be nececary in the future for EVERYONE. (Don't believe me? Hop in a time machine and go 40 years in the future. OH WAIT- We don't HAVE a time machine because people haven't CODED IT YET!) My point exactly. In the future, people will need to be smart and able to code.
So, recently, we have done some practice coding, and although I had done coding before, it was still really fun. I think the first time I had ever coded anything ever was about 3-4 years ago, and it was pretty bad... Anyway, it wasn't too hard, because it was the simplest code EVAR. Like just When click, switch costume THEN, when click something else, do this and this and it's done! EZ PZ Lemon Slurpee. (I love those things. They're great.) A link of it is here... Don't judge me for it. I personally think it was a pretty bad attempt, but it, when you think about it, is kinda alright for the first thing ever programed ever... So, hate it don't hate it? (Kinda like sorry not sorry, but with not liking the project.)

Simple Game

Anyway... If I could design ANY program or game, I think I would create an EPIC game / AI thing where you get to pick, at first, what type of game you would like to play, (Such as open world, puzzle, adventure, platformer, FPS, etc.) And it would create a game for you where each level, based on how you did for the previous levels/ areas, and refit the game to your standards so it is always challenging, never exactly the same, always fun, and there is NO END! I think that would be extremely cool, and it could double as a teaching experience because every level challenges you at your level so you constantly get better. But be sure to leave your computer for food! Heh heh...
Well, Well, Well then, what do we have here... Oh, wait- It's NOT Hat Man... I was expecting him in my lair... (I've kidnapped his daughter, if you see him...) ANYWAY- In the comedy project, (Incase you were wondering, even though there is a GIANT COMEDY VIDEO RIGHT THERE! Wathc it if you haven't) I have learned a bundle of stuff. (Bushel? Barrel? Ton? Gallon? Cubic Centimeter? I'm not good at volume measurements.) I have learned how to make something actually funny! Yeah! I was not really able to do this before! I also learned how to trip convincingly, (Practice makes perfect!) fail at opening doors, and how to place some creative angles. (Leading lines, whatever, you know the drill. I think...) Oh, yeah, and do some very fast edits. I also earned how to properly deliver a comedic monologue, and all of the grade requirements. (I don't think I'll be using the latter...) (Wow! A lot of parentheses today!) That's pretty much it, since I already knew how to use IMovie, and how to use a camera better.

No one voted I had the funniest one :(

So, padding. No no no, not what you put on beds to make them fluffier, what you put on VIDEO CLIPS to make THEM fluffier. Wait- did I say fluffier? I meant softer. Softer? Safer? Whatever? Anyway, padding is basically a few seconds after you start and before you begin acting, and after you stop acting before you end. It's used because if you stop filming the second you stop acting, it will get a little cut off at the end/beginning. It also helps when editing, just in case you need ONE MORE SECOND! NRRGH! Uh- um- excuse me- gotta go- turning into hulk- bye now-

ANYWAY... A couple troubles I had with the filming was that I had to film at night, because I didn't have time in the day, so most of the shots were DARK Well, not SUPER dark, but kinda dark. So I fixed that with a couple edits in IMovie. A couple things I did good were the monologue, except that first fuzzy part, and the trips. I don't know if anyone told you, but I apparently am the MASTER of tripping. Like, it seems real. (I may be over-exaggerating, but I think I did do well on those.) I also forgot to check out a camera several times... I think I could improve by getting a couple desk lamps when it's too dark, and perhaps my acting? I don't know about the acting thing though... Anyway, to discuss the results, Most people thought I did like epically well, a few thought I was good, and 2 people thought my video was bad. I guess I'll have to kidnap their daughters (if they have any) too, and hold them hostage with Hat Man's. No one thought mine was the funniest though. :( It's fine though. The pie chart shows percentile of anonymous percentile of other people's comedy skits, (In other words, blah blah blah, a lot of confusing words, blah blah blah.)

Hello and welcome back to once again, for like the 15th time or something (I lost track) to a new project. This one has to do with comedy, (The only art I have trouble with, and this is a serious statement, unlike the usual sarcastic ones) but I won't bore you with the details just yet- I'll save it for later. Anyway, it is important to have a sense of humor because you can always make the most of a bad situation, or make a good situation even better. (wait- did I just jump to a different topic without explaining first? weird...) For example, say you get 3 cavities at the dentist or something, you could say "I knew I shouldn't have eaten that tooth-eating-mold!" (Wow that was the worst joke ever, but you get the point.) Or say things are going great, you could pop an awesome one-liner and leave everyone laughing their faces off. For example, my brother (who has a great sense of humor) popped a joke the other day while we were discussing random topics, and we all laughed a ton. I cannot write the joke unfortunately, because it is way better said then read. But it was good.

Anyway, I have created my very own "Joke", and just in case you find yourself in the same situation, here are:

Linden's 5 Tips on how to Make a Joke

So, tip number 1. If you are stuck on step one, you should just think of a random thing that happened that day, and exaggerate, poke fun at, or just generally make it funnier. Tip number 2! If you can't poke fun at something that happened that day, just make something up. Such as; "So, a funny thing happened the other day..." etc. Tip 3... If you can't make up something like that, just do a bunch of one liners, or some random stuff. Personally, I prefer the latter. Tip 4!? Make up your own ORIGINAL jokes! If you tell someone a joke based off of the internet, or a joke from the internet, chances are the've already heard a similar joke, and it's WAAAAY less funny. Tip 5! (Finally!) Punny isn't always funny! To make a joke based off of a pun, make sure it's either exaggerated, or actually funny. Test the joke out with friends or family before you tell it to other people.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.gif (Just a laugh GIF.)

Ok. So now here is my comedic monologue. (Or, "Joke", as I called it before...) It came as a stroke of inspiration during one of Mr. Sanderls' lectures. Basically it goes something like this. (A word-for-word copy of what's on my plan) : I had the most persistent cousin ever. He was like Einstein's definition of insanity. I bet, if you looked it up, he would be there. Whenever he messed something up, he would just do it right over again exactly the same. (Trip!) “Ok let’s try that again” (Trip!) “I know how to do this!” (Trip! Trip! Trip!...) He was once stuck trying to go up a down escalator for 3 whole days! I don’t know how he does it. He never does anything differently than he does before, so whenever he does something right, it’s a big celebration and it’s the only thing we ever tell him to do. We once tried to take him to a therapist once, but the meeting went something like this: “So, why are you here.” “Because my family made me come here.” “But why?” “Because” “Why” “Because.” It went on for hours. Either the therapist had the same problem, or he was trying to use up our time... So there you have it. I think it's funny because, well, what sane person would try to keep doing something exactly the same and expect it to work that time?! (Answer: None. That's why I said he was like Einstein's definition of insanity.) Also, the visuals are funny because you see him (me) tripping, doing the same thing over and over again, and slamming into doors over and over. (Don't worry. It won't hurt. I hope...) Also, the last part is funny because a therapist's sessions are timed, so therapists sometimes do things like that (not exactly like that) to waste time, and this particular therapist saw the perfect opportunity. (BTW: I will play all of the parts.)

Well there you go,
After like 7 days of not posting anything, (which in normal for this blog) a new post is underway! Remember the project I mentioned in the previous post? You SHOULD remember unless you totally skipped out on the previous blog post like a slacker. (Can you slack on something no one told you to do? I need to know.) If you did skip out, however, it's the Motivational Poster. You know, Blah Blah Blah, Just do it, etc. Anyway, the requirements are 6 layers: Manifesto, a couple of Personal Quotes, Krazy Kerning (Of both text layers, all the way across the page), 4 Photos, (Three symbolic images, and MY FACE: A portrait...) and also a Triatic color scheme and blending options on my text layers, adjustment layers on my images, and Visual Balance.

Text layers, (without effects)

Images, (without effects)

So, you're probably wondering how I made the poster, (bottom) I shall now tell you. First, I had to create the Manifesto, (Find in the previous blog post! Shameless self advertising FTW) and put it into a brand new Photoshop document. (You know the drill- file, new, 8.5 by 11 inches, etc.) Then I did the same with the personal quotes that I created myself, (On the poster, they are the gold text.) I then Kerned the text to fit the screen precisely, and fitted the Manifesto next to the personal quotes. After that was all said and done, I imported and arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner, the three Symbolic Images, (Once again found in the previous post- You know what? Why don't you just read it...) and a portrait of myself. (Taken by Jason Hoy) I then used layer modification techniques (AKA: a lot of long words that I just use to look smart ) on the text to make it gold, green, and blue, (My Triadic Color Scheme) using the outlines, glow, bevel and emboss, and other stuff to incorporate the scheme. Finally, I used adjustment layers (Above the photos, below the text) to make the photos fit with the color scheme and make them BLUE! Blue as a- a... um... a. . . a Blueberry? I don't know many things that blue. It's almost blinding... Well, anyway, then with a couple of touch-ups, it was done.

So, I'd say that the biggest challenge I had to face was being absent for about a day. When I came back we were supposed to be done kerning- but I hadn't even started. So I had to work really fast and come in for lunch to finish the kerning so it fit the entire screen. I think I did pretty well... What do you guys think? One of the hardest things with the kerning however, was getting the manifesto so it was on the side of the quotes. I manages it in the end by pressing enter when I ran out of room with the text. Otherwise it was pretty easy, probably because I had worked with photoshop before. If you would like to see the finished poster, it is blown up (not literally) at the bottom.
And welcome to the new 2015-2016 school year! Our first project is to make a motivational poster, so let's get on it, but later. 2nd and 3rd paragraphs maybe? Anyway, since I've never actually posted some interesting facts about myself, that's what I'm gonna do right now. 5, to be precise. Ok, so all of you know my name, (I hope) If you don't and you're new to my blog, it's Linden Johns, but I won't count that as one of the 5 facts. Anyway, here they are: 1. My favorite activity is to cook and bake, (pastries, cake, etc.). 2. I am in G.T. media (which you should all know, evidence? G.T. portfolio) and Art class, which are my two favorite classes. 3. I have two cats, named Tigger and Olivia, but this DOES NOT mean that I don't love dogs too, because I do, so CHILL dog fans. 4. I am a ginger, so I have freckles and reddish blond hair EVERYWHERE. I'm kinda like a not-so-hairy smallfoot. (like bigfoot, except with smaller feet.) And 5. the most recent thing, I am in 7th grade! So yeah. those are 5 interesting things about me, and now onto the project.

If you have no idea what that is, I have concealed a link in the underlined manifesto. You're welcome. Anyway, here is my personal Manifesto: Always approach work with ENERGY. Never believe that you will fail, or you will. Never have a NEGATIVE ATTITUDE when you do anything. Always be healthy, physically and emotionally. Healthy body means healthy soul and moods. Be nice to the people you meet and your acquaintances will grow. THE TIME IS NOW. Live your life with passion and inspiration, and always follow your dreams. DREAM BIG. Nothing is impossible if you put time and energy into it. So go be what you want. This is your life so go out there and make the most of it.
So there you go. I just publicly declared my 2015-2016 personal Manifesto. I hope you learned something, and if you didn't and just skimmed it, then I'll just slap the main idea right here: believe in yourself, because if you do, and you actually TRY and do what you would like to do, THEN anything is possible. So yeah. It applies to YOU because some people (I won't point fingers) when they start something are like "Ugg... This? I'm never gonna be able to do this. I quit. Goodbye. nrrgh." You know... Those people. I hope you are (now) not one of them.
Welp. It turned out to be the latter. Oh right- it's been a while. The latter of "It just might be the hardest thing I ever do ever." It may be an exaggeration, but not by much. Well, it's actually going pretty good, but you know, work is work. And we lost about half of our footage. So yeah. I think that I contributed pretty goodly, being A: an actor, B: a director, and C: a cameraman. But I can't take all of the spotlight. Micah helped to. He was A: an actor, and B: a slacker. JK. Jk. He was actually, A: an actor, B: the play writer, and C: a slacker. Still joking. He did his part. Either that, or he's really rich so he can hire someone to do it for him. I really don't care. At least the person he's paying is good at this stuff. Wait- or was he paying an actor to go to school for him too?!?!? AND EVERYWHERE FOR HIM!?!?!? Have I never known him???? CONSPIRACY ALERT!?!?!?!?!??!

Well, now that that conspiracy theory has been cleared up (Has it?) It's time for the OTHER conspiracy, what part will people like most. I believe that my audience will most enjoy the part when I smash Micah's face into the plate of tuna because I think that it's kinda expected, has a close up, and is still funny. Runner ups are: The credits, The RATED screen, and how Micah had a bowl on his face for half of the film. Also the air guitar. That was Rockin' awesome.

In my opinion, Me and Micah's music video completely (well, some at least.) shows what we learned this year. Notice, for example, the sound effects we used. Also, we used SuperImposing and skill with the Quick Selection Tool for the RATED screen, and the "The Weirdos" screen. We also focused are shots, used special effects, and demonstrated correct (I mean incorrect. Stupid autocorrect. JK.) Camera usage. This is our final project of the school year, so I hope you enjoyed. I may not post any blog posts during the summer either. So...
Like, EVERY SINGLE TIME I post a new blog post It's just always THE SAME THING! Blah Blah Blah, new project, new team, new this, new that, Blah Blah Blah. The question is- why? Because reasons. There. I just answered my own question- DEAL WITH IT. Anyway, back on track, Blah Blah Blah, new project new team, new this, new that, Blah Blah Blah.

The new project is a MUSIC VIDEO. The new team is just me and Micah Miller. Click there to see his blog, and his version of this exact post. Anyway, so the video we're doing isn't exactly my FAVORITE song, but it's close. My (semi) favorite song, (I have a lot.) is "Hardware Store" from Weird Al Yankovic. Click the link to see the music video. It kinda makes me feel energetic and excited. It also gives me a strange, unquenchable desire to buy everything from ACE hardware and Home Depot combined... Jk Jk.
Anyway, onto the actual project. Our team, (And by that I mean me and Micah,) Decided (I forced him to) to pick "Just Eat It" By Weird Al Yankovic. We (I) chose this because I thought it would be easy and fun. I'll check up of that later... It may just actually be the hardest thing either one of us EVER DID. (May.) Plus, I LIKE FOOD. Also, it has a lot of weird lyrics that I thought we could visualize with a lot of different stuff. Our video is kinda gonna be a comedy, (sorta) With some stuff like me smashing Micah's face into a bowl of... Mush? Something. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Anyway, I got the better end of that deal. I am the smashER. not the smashEE. Why am I still talking about this? Whatever. The point is, It's a form of slapstick comedy.

There isn't really a story to "Just Eat It"; It's just kinda random, so we had to transfiddle the B-roll a little bit to figure it out. The story, now, is basically that there's always that ONE PERSON that eats AS SLOW AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE, preventing everyone else from proceeding to dessert. Micah is that person. Over time, however, he learns that what he's doing is bad, and he eats faster and stuff. Crazy story right?! At first, he's gonna eat REALLY slowly, and his company is asleep. Later, he wakes up, shoves micah's face into the bowl, and commence music. It's not violence, it's "Freely Expressing Discomfort".

New post in a few weeks,
